Dear Members: Some of you may be aware that we are talking to Twin Cities regarding Haynesville Shale leasing. However, they are not interested in the entire group at this time. We have asked Twin Cities to look at other sections if not the entire group. We will post updates on the Pinecroft Group Web Site. http://www.pinecroftgroup.com All of this takes time so please be patient. Now more than ever it is important that we remain consolidated. I am in the process of calling around and some people have leased their land for as little as $1,300 for Ten (10) Years. Please do not make that mistake. We may not see the 25k deals for some time but anything below $4k is giving it away. The Pinecroft Group is keeping a close watch on two things. One being the well site and the other is the land the City put out for bid in S.W. Shreveport. Twin Cities stated they are acquiring a well site for section 34 and we want to confirm that location. The location that they want is in the corner of Section 26, 27, 34 & 35. We also ask you to check out the Haynesville Shale Landowners Association web site. http://gohsla.org and listen to the broadcast and check out the maps on that site. ENCANA is reconfiguring sections to by-pass some land owners. We should be very concerned about this practice. Write your congressional representative and Senator. We need to put a stop to this before it becomes the norm. Of course, we are excepting donations. A donation of $3 to $5 will be appreciated. Please mail your donations to Pinecroft Group, PO Box 8808, Shreveport, LA 71148. Thanks to those of you that have donated in the past. Preston Niette (318) 603-0967
Legislation that only helps our cause:
·
Governor Jindal signed Act 469 on July 9. The legislation, authored
by Louisiana State Representative Jane Smith, R-Bossier City and led by
Louisiana Senator Nick Gautreaux, D-Abbeville, in the Senate, will
increase economic development and investment in Louisiana by encouraging
companies to use a fuel source that is clean, abundant, affordable and
American. o Increase the existing personal or corporate income tax credit from 20% to 50% for purchase of qualified clean burning motor vehicle fuel property, including equipment installed on a motor vehicle and property directly related to the delivery of an alternative fuel. o Increase the existing personal or corporate income tax credit for the purchase of a motor vehicle with qualified clean burning motor vehicle fuel property installed by the manufacturer of such vehicle to 10% of the cost of the vehicle or $3,000, whichever is less. o Establish the existing credit as a refundable income tax credit if no taxes are owed and notes that the tax credits are retroactive to January 1, 2009.
o
Repeal provisions under current law that prohibit a company or
individual who qualifies for Louisiana’s Quality Jobs Program from
taking advantage of the existing income tax credits for alternative
fueled vehicles and equipment. · The legislation was broadly supported with 67 co-authors in the House and 23 co-authors in the Senate. Additionally, a total of 24 entities and organizations passed Resolutions supporting HB 110. They ranged from local governments, chambers of commerce, economic development organizations and environmental groups that represent literally thousands of Louisiana citizens interested in reducing greenhouse gas emissions and building our nation’s energy security.
· The Governor’s signature enacting HB 110 into law provides leadership in Louisiana to support the country’s transition of its transportation system away from carbon-heavy gasoline and diesel towards carbon-light natural gas. Point of Contact: Preston Niette pniette@att.net
